Being

Being is a London-based stencil artist mixing spray paint, pop culture and a healthy dose of British mischief. With a background in art school and graphic design, he’s taken image-making from the screen to the street, creating bold, instantly recognisable work that’s found its way onto walls, into galleries and out into the world. His weapons of choice? Layered stencils, spray cans and a refusal to play by the rules.

Humour, attitude and a bit of social commentary sit at the heart of Being’s work. He takes everyday objects / situations and gives them a twist and leaves you to work out the rest. But beneath the cheeky grin, there’s often something more serious going on. Being also tackles mental health, using art to get people talking, break down barriers and remind us to check in on each other. No preaching. No bullshit. Sometimes it starts with a simple question: “Mate, are you alright?”

From street walls and spray-paint festivals to gallery shows, collaborations and commissions, Being’s work continues to cross boundaries and challenge expectations. His art has appeared across the UK, Europe and USA bringing street attitude into new spaces without losing its edge. Whether making you laugh, think or look twice, Being believes art should be accessible, unapologetic and never take itself too seriously. A bit of mischief. A bit of meaning. All about Being.
